I always wanted to have a Vacuum Press for glueing together free-form parts. Recently a friend of mine gave me a suitable piece of elastic membrane and I could grab a used pump online for an attractive price.
It took me some brainwork to figure out which kind of tubing, threads etc. were neccessary. I also got some professional help in working out a way to attach the membrane to the frame.
The device holds the vaccum, ca. -0.87 bar, surprising well. The two big reservoirs, around 10 litres, seem to help.
The „control panel“ can be used to switch on the pump and control the vacuum flow between pump, reservoir and table.
